A rectification of Lifts Directive Recast 2014/33/UE regarding the text in the Italian Language has been published in the OJEU L 30/42 on 6 February 2015.
PPE Directive 89/686/EEC will be repealed by a Regulation that is already in the legislative process. The main changes introduced in the Regulation proposal by the European Commission are related to the scope that will be extended with the addition of PPE for private use for protection against moisture, water and heat while PPE when used for commercial purposes are already covered by the directive.
The European Commission adopted the proposal for a Regulation on Cableways in March 2014 that reflects the discussion with the MSs and the stakeholders and the outcomes of the impact assessment study. The proposal is under consideration by the European Parliament and the Council.
If the adoption takes place in the second semester of 2015, in this case, the Regulation will be applicable in 2017, after a two-year transitional period, to allow manufacturers, notified bodies and Member States to adapt to the new requirements.
